Accessibility statement

Last updated: · Effective version
This accessibility statement describes QR Generator at https://qr.alexjungean.com. It reports measures that exist in the product and tests that have been run. It does not claim that every state of every browser is fully conformant.
1. Commitment
The operator aims to make the generator usable with keyboard, screen readers, and reduced motion, and to keep legal documents readable. Accessibility work is treated as a quality requirement, not as decorative copy.
2. Scope
This statement covers the public origin, including:
- the generator on the home page;
- privacy, terms, cookies, legal notice, acceptable use, licences, and this statement, in English and Romanian;
- the shared header and footer.
It does not cover https://alexjungean.com, exported PNG/SVG files as used in a third-party reader, or print output.
3. Measures in place
- Skip-to-content control that moves focus to the main landmark.
- Keyboard operation for payload type, fields, Customize, expert controls, and Reset, with visible focus.
- Labels, descriptions, and live export status for disabled and ready download actions.
- Preview region that exposes busy state while a newer encode is running.
prefers-reduced-motionhonoured in CSS.- Dark theme with documented contrast tokens for the chrome. QR module colours are user-controlled; contrast warnings are heuristics about the code, not about the surrounding UI.
- Document language: English on default pages; Romanian legal pages set
lang="ro"on the main landmark.
4. Conformance and testing
Automated axe scans are run against WCAG 2.2 AA tags on the home page and legal routes in Chromium and Firefox. Those scans fail the release suite on critical or serious violations. They are not a substitute for a complete manual audit.
The product targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA for the implemented generator workflow. That target is a design goal supported by automated checks and a documented keyboard happy path. It is not a third-party certification.
5. Known limitations
- The remaining manual accessibility review beyond axe and the keyboard happy path is not marked complete in the project status.
- WebKit end-to-end coverage is skipped on hosts that lack the required GTK 4 / GStreamer libraries, so Safari-class engines are not in the automated gate on those hosts.
- Colour pickers and file upload for logos depend on the browser’s native controls. Those controls vary by engine and operating system.
- Legal documents are long. They use headings and a contents list, but they are still dense text.
- A generated QR code is a graphic. Screen-reader users receive the preview label, not a verbal decoding of the payload. The form fields remain the accessible source of the content.
6. European Accessibility Act
Directive (EU) 2019/882 and Romanian Law no. 232/2022 set accessibility requirements for certain products and services from 28 June 2025. Microenterprises that provide services have a statutory exemption from some of those service obligations.
The operator is a natural person offering a free tool at micro-enterprise scale. This statement is published as an accurate description of current measures, not as a claim that the EAA conformity-assessment procedure for a large service provider has been run.
7. Feedback
If you cannot use a part of the service, email alex.jungean@gmail.com with the subject “QR Generator accessibility”, the page URL, the browser and assistive technology you use, and what you expected to happen. The operator will reply within a reasonable time and will say what can be changed in the current architecture.

The English and Romanian texts describe the same service. If they differ, the English text at /accessibility prevails, without limiting any mandatory consumer or data-protection rights that apply in Romania or the European Union.
